Escap'ânes en Pyrénées Cathares provides the perfect solution for your nature walks, offering you pack donkeys to carry your equipment along your day-long itinerary or on a multi-day hiking tour.

Our farm is located in Roquefixade, in the Cathar Pyrenees, in a lush valley. We raise hiking donkeys.

This price includes: a donkey trained for hiking, its wooden pack-saddle, two large saddlebags, grooming and tying equipment for the night. IGN map with itinerary and explanations on how to lead a donkey and prepare saddlebags.

For donkey transport: 1€/km

To keep your donkey happy and fit, your luggage should weigh no more than 30kg per donkey, to which should be added the weight of the pack-saddle and your donkey's maintenance kit, i.e. around 40kg.

If you're staying in a tent, you'll need 1 donkey for 2/3 people, or 2 donkeys for 4/5 people (and you'll probably also need to carry some gear in your backpacks).

Comfort stays in accommodation and 1/2 board, count 1 donkey for 3/4 people.
